NGOBOBO -As- Ibungu Urbain
Ngobobo-As-Ibungu Urbain is program director for the Fossey Fund's Grauer’s Gorilla Research and Conservation Program in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He has several years of experience establishing conservation projects in the DRC. As a program manager for the Frankfurt Zoological Society, he identified new national parks to support in the Congo and established a gorilla monitoring unit and base in Bukima-Virungan National Park. As a project manager for the Zoological Society of London, he established community conservation activities in Garamba National Park and a station in Virunga National Park.
Ngobobo has a master's degree in innovation, development and society from the International Institute of Water and Environmental Engineering in Burkina Faso, and a license in rural development and a degree in rural planning from the Rural Development University, Bukavo, DRC. His master's thesis analyzed the ecological and socio-economic impact of the economic and security crisis in the DRC on biodiversity and on park rangers' families.
