New approaches to anti-poaching show success

The number of snares set in the park has remained high, reaching about 1,000 per year.In 2014, the park authority and the Musanze District developed a sensitization campaign, targeting suspected poachers living in the communities around Volcanoes National Park. Results were seen immediately.
