Dominant Silverback Rano Dies, Group’s Future to be Determined

Silverback Rano a  year before his deathDian Fossey Gorilla Fund trackers found dominant silverback Rano dead on July 28. He was 21 years old and the son of legendary silverback Titus.  Surviving group members include three young silverbacks, but it remains to be seen who will lead the group.




Nature's Path Supports Gorilla Conservation Radio Program

Conservation education, supported by Nature's PathNature's Path, an organic cereal manufacturer and supporter of the Fossey Fund, helped fund an educational radio drama about gorilla conservation that was broadcast to the community that borders Volcanoes National Park.
