Craig Piper

Craig Piper has been president and CEO of the Denver Zoological Foundation since 2007, and has served in executive positions at the Denver Zoo since 1997.

Earlier, he worked at Zoo Atlanta, the Detroit Zoo, and Cleveland’s Metroparks Zoo. He is vice-chair of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Professional Development Committee and Board of Ethics, and serves on the board of directors of the National Elephant Center. 

Piper earned a Bachelor’s degree in architecture with a minor in zoology and a Master’s degree in architecture from the University of Michigan (with emphasis on environmental design and professional practice), and has completed coursework for a Ph.D. in environment and behavior from the Georgia Institute of Technology College of Architecture.
