Rebecca Rooney has been involved in wildlife conservation for more than 20 years. Her experience includes research for National Geographic magazine articles and zoo exhibits and leading public relations and marketing campaigns.
Her interest in mountain gorilla and great ape conservation began in 1993 while she helped to manage the Jane Goodall Institute chimpanzee orphanage in Bujumbura, Burundi.
A graduate of Boston College and Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management, she now splits her time between Austin, Texas, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She is a freelance writer.
