Dieudonné Busangwa Changwi

Dieudonné Busangwa Changwi is the technical advisor for community conservation reserves for the Fossey Fund in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). He is responsible for providing technical assistance to the projects conducted by the Union of Associations for Gorilla Conservation and Community Development in Eastern DRC (UGADEC), a network of community-based nature reserves.

Changwi has worked with the Fossey Fund since 2001, first as a program manager for the Kisimba-Ikobo nature reserve, an UGADEC member. After receiving training in conflict settlement and participatory mapping from Innovative Resources Management in 2003, he became education and sensitization manager for the Fossey Fund and UGADEC, working with local communities. In 2005-2006, Changwi was named UGADEC executive technical secretary and focal point for the Fossey Fund, and was appointed to his current position in 2009. He holds a degree in geography and natural sciences.
