The orphaned gorillas at GRACE*, our gorilla rescue center in Congo, need more space.Now that the gorillas are no longer fragile infants and are learning to be independent of their human caregivers, they need safe areas of forest where they can practice being gorillas. This is a critical step in the process of achieving our goal of eventually reintroducing these orphans back to the wild.
And now, you too can be part of this initiative by helping us GIVE THEM FREEDOM.
We need to raise $160,000 right away to build a special fence in their natural forest habitat, so that they will be safe as they have their first experiences exploring the wild, learning skills they will need to one day live freely on their own.

GRACE is funded and operated by a small consortium of organizations. Current members of the consortium are the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, The Disney Company, the Congolese national park service (ICCN) and the Tayna Center for Conservation Biology (TCCB).

Fence construction has started with the $32,000 received to date ($16,000 donations plus $16,000 match), but a much larger fence is required. Without the proper size area fenced, the gorillas will not learn the skills they need to live alone in the wild and their release date will be delayed. Please encourage others to give and be matched.
