Karisoke Silverback
Well-known silverback Pablo, who was named by Dr. Dian Fossey and helped lead the largest-ever recorded group of mountain gorillas, has now been missing for several weeks. DFGFI's Karisoke trackers have searched for him but hopes have dimmed.

Birds at Karisoke
The mountain gorillas live in a complex ecosystem that also includes many other rare and unique species. DFGFI's Karisoke Research Center now has a biodiversity division, which includes the study of birds in the area and methods for their conservation.
